Morning all! This week’s #AboutLastNight features photos from two holiday parties: the first holiday party I attended last month (Classy Friendsgiving hosted by Bloo and Morgan) and the first Christmas party I attended this month (An Ugly (Fabulous) Sweater Party hosted by Amber and Marcel). Hope you enjoy the pics as I begin preparations for my annual “Christmas in Harlem” party that jumps off this Saturday!!

I love the holidays because it allows you the chance to recognize your blessings. The time to reflect on all that has happened over the last year, and who was with you, to hold your hand, cheer you on, and make you laugh along the way. I was not able to spend Thanksgiving with my blood relatives this year, but spending it with my New York “framily” was just as sweet. Thankful to have friends who gladly opened their door to guests this year. The food was AH-mazing, but the fellowship with old and new friends alike was great! Thanksgiving, once again, opened my eyes to all that has shaped me this year, and it has not been too shabby.
And just like that, it’s December! The month that means holiday parties, get-togethers, travel, home-cooked meals, decorations and Christmas playlists starring Mariah, Charlie Brown and Nat King Cole. I love this time of year! Everything sparkles, the cold weather is tolerable, and I get to spend time with family and friends.
Looking back on November, it was a flurry of activity, social gatherings, rehearsals and Netflix marathons. Cynthia and I were unable to find time in our busy schedules to do a top of the month toast, and with that it’s hard for me to pinpoint any progress made for myself personally or professionally. Last night, while Prosecco was opened and poured, no goals were made out loud but communing with Cynthia and Alicia post-thanksgiving was exactly what the evening required and with it internal themes and goals for myself were made.
December for me will be a month of Rebooting and Preparation for the upcoming new year! With that theme comes plans for my professional website to be launched, new headshots to be taken, sit-in on an Adler Outreach class in the Bronx to see if that’s something I want to pursue in the spring, and of course shopping for family and friends before going home to Jackson on Christmas Eve.
After Thanksgiving, I think it’s safe to say that everybody feels like they’re in free fall just counting down the days to January 1 and that can get pretty overwhelming! Luckily I have decorating to do, Christmas cards to mail, and a house party to plan; December is going to be the cherry on an incredibly interesting year. Can’t wait to see what’s coming around the corner 🙂
