For today’s “Flashback Friday” I’m taking a look back at April-June. There was a whole lot of traveling in this little chunk of 2014: Philly, Richmond, Washington DC, San Diego, plus I did a show (Messiah Complex), saw a show (Bullets on Broadway) and started rehearsals for another show (A Midsummer Night’s Dream). I celebrated my Aunt Cynthia’s new position as Deputy Attorney General of Virginia, went to a sonogram appointment with Jassmine, supported my friend Jenna on her new web series, treated my cousin to brunch to toast her first PR job in the city, had an amazing reunion with Mississippi folks in town, went to the opera, enjoyed the sun and sand of San Diego, had a Mother/Daughter weekend in DC, and spent quality time with my friends as I rang in my 25th birthday. Enjoy the pictures below, some are old and some have never been published, and of course you can click the month’s in the menu on the left and relive these moments with me!
As I stated on Monday, each Friday post this month will be a dedicated “Flashback Friday” as I go three months at a time through 2014. This week it’s January-March! I sadly learned that I somehow forgot to back up my January photos, so I’ll only be able to repost the ones that originally appeared that month, but for February and March I’ll add a few in the slideshow that you haven’t seen! Hope you enjoy my trip down memory lane.
Today’s “Throwback Thursday” features Christmas Trees! I am totally getting into the holiday spirit you guys! Willow and I have been buying decorations, our first free standing tree, and last night we had a great little tree-trimming time as Love Actually played in the background. Since Tuesday I have been listening to my Spotify Christmas Tunes playlist, and stopping at each and every Christmas tree stand to take a big whiff of the evergreen freshness.
Even as I write this I am being serenaded by the Boyz II Men, Christmas Interpretations album (lol). As I watch the world awake to the injustices and inequalities that pepper our society, I find a resounding peace and serenity in the true meaning of this season. Being surrounded by loved ones, blessed to see another holiday season, and finding the resolve to make it to another year when so many have not been as fortunate. I am still combing through my mind to come to terms with current events, but as I do, it’s comforting to know that there are still so many positive things in my life right now that I can hold on to.
Enjoy these Throwback photos featuring: my mom, Kyla, Cynthia, and a baby Ava!

While some of these photos may have been posted I’ve decided to display them again, only this time I’ve learned how to display slideshows and galleries easily thanks to the FAQ section. (thanks wordpress, a little slow to this feature, oops) Don’t worry I’ll try not to abuse this too much, but you gotta admit it’s pretty snazzy!
