As I stated on Monday, each Friday post this month will be a dedicated “Flashback Friday” as I go three months at a time through 2014. This week it’s January-March! I sadly learned that I somehow forgot to back up my January photos, so I’ll only be able to repost the ones that originally appeared that month, but for February and March I’ll add a few in the slideshow that you haven’t seen! Hope you enjoy my trip down memory lane.
If you look to your left, you’ll see there’s a new page in the menu bar: Fall Firsts. As I mentioned in my monthly theme post at the beginning of the month, I want to try and get the most out of my favorite season in New York before the snow and blistering, cold wind take up residence. This weekend is going to be a great one because I’ll be able to cross one of the items off of my list: the Dumbo Arts Festival!
The cherry on top of the weekend ahead is that it will be filled with amazing people! Not only is Cynthia in town (visiting from St. Thomas), but I’ll be celebrating my cousin Lauren’s 25th birthday in style AND, wait for it, spending time with Melissa and Ammon (for the first time all together in, I think, 8 years) here in New York. With these social appointments tacked on to rehearsals and a film short shoot, and my first two Shakespeare classes at Adler, this week is going to end on a very high note! Be sure to check the Fall Firsts page to see how I’m doing, but as I’m sure you know check the home page because posts will be a-coming.
This has been a great week for me here in NYC, filled with numerous auditions (where I kicked butt in the room), an unplanned trip to Lincoln Center (to watch ABT’s performance of “La Bayadere” in the Grand Tier), building up my actor karma selling SdV Designs in Park Slope and Washington Square over the Memorial Day weekend, and celebrating Lauren’s new job at BLVD Bistro in Harlem!

So colorful, definitely candy for the eye.

Pretty stoked, waiting for my date to the performance.

As another month ends, and my 25th birthday approaches this week has definitely been a great “swan song” for 24! Auditioning for theatre companies and short films, rehearsing one of Shakespeare’s best while building camaraderie with my cast members, reconnecting with Saskia and Scott helping them with their business in any way I am able, and finally coming full circle with the opportunity to perform at Stella by Starlight, my acting studio’s annual fundraising gala where they will be honoring Rosie Perez, among others. Hope I don’t get too star struck. 😉
This weekend will be filled with hellos and goodbyes. As I get a chance to hang with Jassmine and Derrick (from Philly) who are in the city Saturday, and saying goodbye to Cynthia as she prepares to “Flee the City” for her year abroad. Also a new roommate has moved in over here at the apartment and can’t wait to get to know her as the months progress.
Have a great weekend all! And happy greetings to the month of JUNE!!!
