Happy Sunday

Standard

Supporting new friends, seeing evocative theatre and more web series planning were on tap for this gorgeous weekend. Hard to believe that summer is quickly winding down, I mean Labor Day is in TWO weeks. Remember to approach the day with luck and a wink 😉 Are you ready for more? Because I am. And if you’re not, here’s a video to get you dancing, laughing or just off the couch.

Ciao

Tuesday Thoughts

Standard

the stars are artificial here
The air is tinged with the fragrance of burnt pretzels and street meat
No grass to sink your toes into here
Just the climate controlled cement and concrete
Look to your left and you see “modernity”
Large glass windows, steel beams, posters advertising the latest blockbuster or reality tv show
On the other you see a more “classic” aesthetic
Brick and plaster, gargoyles and frescoes
Elaborate floral arrangements
Uniformed doormen at arched doorways welcoming patrons into a lush carpeted and exquisitely decorated lobby
A land of opposites
couples look longingly into one another’s eyes
Trying to touch every inch of the other
Consumed with lust and affection
Other couples, heavy with drink holding court with one another in the middle of the street
Pushing and shoving with all their might
Arguing about matters that won’t hold sway in the morning
Stickiness envelops us all
The breeze a sweet relief as I pass by each vignette

#AboutLastNight

Standard

This was a tremendous weekend friends! I went on as Mac Jenkins in That Bachelorette Show at 42west on Saturday, danced my butt off and interaced with audience members and my fellow castmates all night. While Saturday was an evening I won’t soon forget, the cherry on top for the weekend was gathering my talented friends in my living room and bringing my baby, Shampagne, to life on steamy Sunday night.

There is nothing that I can write or say to adequately express the multitude of emotions I felt yesterday. If you’re a writer or creator who depends on the strengths and talents of others to bring your creative vision to life you would be better equipped to translate what I mean.

The year is starting to pick up the pace as we stare down the last few weeks of summer. Looking at my vision board from January and seeing what lictures, ideas and quotes have been realized so far is awe inspiring. Focus, drive and the love and support from family and friend shave pushed me so far.

Now it’s time to kick it up one more notch to help make 2015 an extremely memorable and monumental year.

Ciao 😉

Wordy Wednesday

Standard

“Goodbye” is a powerful word.

it begins a pattern of separation and acceptance, of grief or celebration, of “so long’s” and “farewell’s”

laying flowers by the gravesite of a departed loved one

throwing rice or blowing bubbles at the newlyweds as they embark on their new journey together,

“Goodbye” can live many lives,

depending on how it is used.

as a single word, “goodbye”, can string together the roller coaster of adventures shared between a group of friends graduating college

as two distinct words, “good” and “bye”, it has the potent energy of malice, strife, pain, and deception: the feelings engaged at the death of a relationship

contracted, “g’bye”, brims with warm familiarity which oozes from the heart of a young child speaking to a parent, stuffed animal, or imaginary friend.

but today, I use “bye.”

a shoddy attempt at concealing my disappointment that even as I was with you, breathing you in, keeping in step with you on the sidewalk, my heart only understood that the subway entrance drew ever closer

ready to separate us, once again, by distance, time and place.

August, A-Go-Go-Go

Standard

Guys! A few amazing things have happened since August 1st, that I must share with you:

1.) I spent a long weekend in Prattsville, NY for the Rising Circle season-planning retreat. (thanks Adam!)

2.) I found out that I will be making my Off-Broadway debut this week, in That Bachelorette Show. (eeeeeeeeee!!!!!)

AND,

3.) I had the first production meeting for my passion project, Shampagne, coming to a laptop/iPad/streaming device near you in 2016.

So, forgive me for my laziness absence. Life has just been super crazy in the best possible way. All of these events are just fodder for tons of posts and photo collages, diaries, and fun things to come! Consistently and persistently, the plethora of quotes, goals and images on my image board at the top of the year are bearing fruit. Stick with me everybody, with three and a half months left in the year, who knows how far I will go?
